At Burleigh Candle Co., nestled in the picturesque Tamar Valley of Tasmania, we are passionate artisans dedicated to the craft of candle making. With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality, we create exquisite candles that bring warmth and ambiance to any space. Our products are thoughtfully designed with a focus on sustainability, utilizing only the highest quality natural waxes and Australian-made fragrances. But Burleigh Candle Co. is more than craftsmanship—it’s a story of life, love, and purpose.

One night, at 2 a.m., I woke from sleep and instinctively registered Burleigh Candle Co. Shortly after, I left a 20-year corporate career to join Qantas. Life then surprised us again when my husband, Michael, invited me on a private island getaway to Wilson Island. On the boat ride over, we spoke about the first candle in our collection—I had a deep knowing that the island itself would inspire it. When he asked me what scent I’d choose, I said: “Sea salt and driftwood.” Arriving on the island, with bubbles in hand and tears in our eyes, we felt overwhelmed by its magic. On departure, we were surrounded by turtles—a moment that felt like fate.

Back home, I created the first Burleigh Candle Co. range: James St, Wilson Island, Date Night, Burleigh Beach Sunsets, and Burleigh Hill—a reflection of our life together in Burleigh.

Two weeks later, our world changed. Michael was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer. Doctors weren’t sure he would make it. Everything came to a standstill. I took six months off work, dedicating every day to preparing organic food, eliminating toxins, and creating a nurturing space. Teaching Michael how to make candles during his chemo became a source of comfort, distraction, and joy—a purpose that brought warmth to our lives amid the uncertainty.

After his treatment, our candles caught the attention of Robina Town Centre. Without knowing our story, they placed us front and centre—and overnight, our creations went viral, selling out daily.

Then Tasmania called. After Michael got the all-clear, we spontaneously flew here to celebrate. From the moment we landed, it felt like home. We left Burleigh behind, choosing a life rooted in health, purpose, and creativity. In Tasmania, we connected with incredible people and talented creatives, organically growing a brand that is much bigger than candles—it’s a story of resilience, love, and shared vision.

Today, Burleigh Candle Co. continues to thrive, supported by our loyal Gold Coast community, while our family remains deeply involved. Every candle reflects the artistry, dedication, and journey behind it—bringing warmth, beauty, and a touch of our story into your home.
